The Langtang Gosaikunda trek offers a blend of exploring the remote, breathtaking Langtang Valley and visiting the high-altitude lakes at Gosainkunda. The journey begins with a trip to Langtang National Park, followed by a trek to the valley’s end, revealing magnificent mountain views. Departing from Kathmandu, we follow the Trisuli River through Trisuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syabrubesi, a Sherpa village at the edge of the national park. From there, we head east into Langtang Valley, crossing the river multiple times while ascending the gorge-like lower valley. The route takes us through oak and rhododendron forests and across glacial moraines to the Tamang village of Langtang. Continuing up the valley, we reach Kyangin Gompa, where we stop for the night and try the local yak cheese. On our way to the glaciers that lead to Tibet, we pass through the hidden valley of Nubamatang. Retracing our steps, we move through Syabru and Sing Gompa to a high plateau where the sacred lake Gosainkunda awaits. After crossing the Llaurebena Pass (4,610m), we continue southward, leaving the Langtang region and entering the Helambu Valley, finally reaching Gul Bhanjyang.
